Terms and Conditions

Subject to these Terms and Conditions you ("you" or "Customer") will be eligible to trade in your old IT equipment and receive a cash back reward when you purchase qualifying products.

  1. The Trade to Save promotion is valid on new purchases (second hand or refurbished Dell Products are excluded) of Dell Qualifying Products.
  2. Purchases must be made through Dell direct, or via www.dell.com or through an authorised reseller.
  3. Dell Qualifying Products and associated applicable reward amounts are those set out at any given time here. Rewards are dependent upon the Qualifying Product purchased and trade in products must be equivalents - specifically printer purchases will qualify for specific quoted rewards on the basis of trade in of an old printer, scanner or fax product, monitor purchases will qualify for specific quoted rewards on the basis of trade in of an old monitor product and laptop, desktop or tablet purchases will qualify for specific quoted rewards on the basis of trade in of an old laptop, desktop, tablet or server product.
  4. Minimum spends may apply. Please see qualifying products list for further details.
  5. This promotion is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland only. The promotion is not open to wholesalers, resellers, retailers, participating stockists or anyone connected with the promotion.
  6. Claims must be submitted by the end user customer only. Resellers may not submit claims on behalf of their customers.
  7. A full and valid claim form must be completed in accordance with online instructions here, all within 21 days of the invoice date (or store receipt date if there is no invoice issued by the Dell reseller).
  8. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or cancel the terms of this promotion without notice, though payments in respect of valid claims submitted at the time of any cancellation will be honoured.

    To submit a claim in accordance with these terms, customer mustpackage and send (to Dell's agent, dataserv, at the address detailed below, by pre-paid post and using the pre-paid postage label which will be emailed to you within 3 days of making your claim – where post is not pre-paid, equipment trade ins will be deemed not received) the following in accordance with the instructions from Dell and its partner:

    • A completed, signed and dated claim form, as set out in the online instructions here.
    • A copy of the Qualifying Product purchase invoice or receipt, clearly detailing the purchase of the relevant new Dell product - despatch notes are not acceptable (applications will be screened for validity to ensure that the transaction made is a bona fide purchase of the Qualifying Product).
    • Customer proof of purchase will not be posted back to the customer - please do not send the original.
    • The old IT equipment for trade in, along with the mains adapter and lead and any other accessories as set out in condition 15, packaged in accordance with instructions provided by means of the claim form and /or Trade In Certificate. No other equipment or material should be included.
  9. By completing the claim and seeking the trade in reward, the customer warrants to Dell that it has full title and ownership of the old IT equipment to be traded in. Customer indemnifies Dell in respect of any loss, claim or cost incurred Dell (or its subcontractors operating this promotion) as a result of any breach of this warranty by the customers as to ownership of IT equipment.
  10. Customer may not combine this promotion with any other trade in or recycling promotion and may only combine with other Dell promotions / offers at the discretion of Dell.
  11. All instructions form part of these terms and conditions. The cash back reward will only be paid upon satisfaction by the customer of these terms and conditions. By completing the claim process, customers confirm their acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  12. There is a maximum of one piece of old IT equipment trade in in respect of each potential reward for a Qualifying Product purchased and there is a maximum of 100 claims per customer or household (based on postal address) during any 3 month period.
  13. Dell reserves the right to closely monitor usage of the promotional website at www.delltradetosave.com, including users IP addresses, so that it may identify misuse, and disqualify applications if it has reason to believe that these terms have been breached.
  14. The offer is not transferrable to another individual or business; claims will only be accepted from the original purchaser of a Dell Qualifying Product.
  15. Following receipt of a claim, the customer will receive notice of the validation of their claim (or otherwise in accordance with condition 17 below) promptly and within 21 days of receipt of the elements set out in condition 7.
  16. If a claim is refused, because these promotion terms have not been met or the reward value reduced in accordance with condition 17 below, the promoter's decision is final.
  17. Trade in IT equipment; To qualify for the full quoted cash back reward, IT equipment for trade in in accordance with this promotion, must meet the following conditions:

    Printers, Scanners or Fax
    Complete with power cable, device must weigh less than 20KG


    Laptops and Desktops:
    • Must be less than 5 years old,
    • Must be manufactured by a qualifying manufacturer

        • Battery must hold a charge for at least 20 minutes
    Tablets:
    • Must be less than 5 years old,
    • Must be manufactured by a qualifying manufacturer

      • Must be fully operational. This means:

        • It must power on and have a working qualifying processor.
        • All accessories e.g. battery, mains adapter and lead, must be fully operational.
        • It must be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear & tear accepted).
        • It must not be permanently marked or defaced.
        • Battery must hold a charge for at least 20 minutes

    Servers:

    • Must be a desktop or tower, Single or multi cpu/HDD.
    • Must be no more than 6 yrs old.
    • Must be no more than 20KG in weight.
    • Must be fully operational. This means:
      • It must power on.
      • All accessories e.g. mains adapter and lead, must be fully operational.
      • It must be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear & tear accepted).
      • It must not be permanently marked or defaced.
    • Trade in IT equipment may nevertheless qualify for a reduced reward if it does not meet the criteria as set out above, based on the below reward deductions:

      Battery worn out/failed Minus 30€
      Cracked/damaged casing Minus 20€
      Dead Motherboard Minus 40€
      Missing one or more keys from keyboard Minus 20€
      Missing Power Supply Minus 20€
      Permanent marking (etched/asset tag) Minus 20€
      Power on password locked Minus 40€

  18. We will not deduct more than the quoted value of the cash back (meaning regardless of potential multiple deductions based on lack of qualifications above, the cash back amount will never be negative and the least the Customer will be entitled to is 0, meaning Dell will cover the costs of recycling). If trade in equipment is found to be not in line with condition 17 upon receipt by Dell, or suffers from any of the following damage; an electronic error, transportation damage, , a missing VGA cable, faulty colour, a faulty display, faulty PSU/adaptor, more than 3 dead pixels, an attached security device, missing case parts, a missing rear cover, a missing front panel cover; Dell may offer a revised reward amount in line with the above reward deductions.

    Returned equipment - Used Electrical /Electronic Equipment

    • All equipment is to be returned as Used Electrical / Electronic Equipment (UEEE) and packed in a manner that avoids damage, cosmetic or otherwise
    • Process Information: The Returned Equipment (UEEE) is processed through a REUSE Process.
    • The Used Equipment (UEEE) that can be REUSED after successfully passing through the REUSE Process is re-classified as REEE ( Reused Electrical / Electronic Equipment)


    Waste Electrical / Electronic Equipment

    • The Used Equipment (UEEE) that cannot be REUSED after unsuccessfully passing through the REUSE Process is re-classified as WEEE ( Waste Electrical / Electronic Equipment)
    • Process Information: Waste Electrical / Electronic Equipment ( WEEE) subsequent to failing to pass through any or all of the REUSE Process Waste Electrical / Electronic Equipment ( WEEE) is thereafter treated as waste ( WEEE) and falls out of the Reuse Process for the purpose of Recycling / Disposal
    • All WEEE is subject to the Regulation of The WEEE Directive and handled and transported accordingly.
  19. Submission of a claim in connection with this promotion creates a binding agreement between the customer and Dell in respect of the transfer to Dell of ownership of the traded in IT equipment. Transfer of risk and title in the trade in IT equipment shall pass to Dell upon receipt by Dell of the equipment. However, if the IT equipment does not comply with condition 16 and therefore the actual reward offered to the customer by Dell is less than the advertised available reward in respect of the relevant Qualifying Product, Dell shall promptly and within 14 days following receipt of the trade in equipment, confirm to the customer the actual reward that will be offered and the customer shall then have the option of declining the reward and reclaiming their IT equipment. Of course the customer may still proceed with its purchase of a new Dell Qualifying Product, if that purchase has not already been made. If the customer chooses to decline the reward, it should notify Dell of this decision promptly and within 14 days of the reward confirmation notice received by it (failure to notify Dell of a decision to decline will result in Dell processing the claim and payment of the reduced reward), following which Dell shall return the trade in equipment and there will be a cost for such return of €20, payable before the equipment's return.
  20. Deletion of all confidential data and information, which are in each case subject to applicable data protection legislation, and are possibly stored on the equipment to be traded in, is the responsibility of the customer. Prior to sending the trade in equipment, it is the customer's responsibility to delete data from any storage media in the product and remove any removable storage media, for example; SD card or Compact Flash cards. The promoter accepts no responsibility for lost or confidential data and software.
  21. Provided that the customer trade in equipment matches the description given by the customer and these terms are otherwise complied with by the customer, a bank transfer in the sum of the applicable reward amount, will be sent within 40 days of validation in accordance with condition 15 (or, in the case of a reduced reward in line with condition 17, 40 days of receipt by Dell of confirmation from the customer that they accept the reduced reward or 40 days from the date which is 14 days from date of the Dell reward confirmation notice). Payments will be made by Opia on behalf of Dell and can only be made to a customer bank account held in the UK. If these conditions are not complied with, Dell shall have no obligation to provide the customer with a cash back trade in reward.
  22. Return of the Qualifying Dell products to the seller following submission of the trade in cash back claim (whether under distance selling rights or otherwise) will disentitle the customer to the cash back reward.
  23. Proof of posting of traded in IT equipment will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Dell cannot accept liability for any applications lost, damaged or destroyed in the post and so Dell recommends using an insured postal service.
  24. Dell or it´s service providers are not responsible or liable for any technical, hardware, software, server, website, or other failures or damage of any kind to the extent that these may prevent the customer from or otherwise obstruct him/her in from participating in the promotion.
  25. All documentation submitted for this promotion becomes the property of Dell and will not be returned. Submission of false, incorrect, misleading or fraudulent documentation may result in disqualification from this promotion and future Dell promotions and may result in the submitter being subject to prosecution.
  26. The decisions of Dell in respect of any and all aspects of the promotion will be final and binding.
  27. This Promotion and these Promotion Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, and each party irrevocably agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to all claims arising out of or in connection with this Promotion and these Promotion Terms.
  28. The maximum reward available is capped at 50% of your invoice purchase price, regardless of the reward advertised.

  30. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with another promotion or discount.
